where is your xenarc motherboard too big (or is it the screen)? is it too thick to fit in the housing? or too wide or long? i see Dracovs is about 1 inch thick with all the mainboards and screen together...
I found out from my shop that the xenarc motherborad will not fit n the 03-04 navi its so bulky but that xenarc will def fit in the 05 and up OEM Navi like Dracovs pics in this 1st post.

Hense i found a solition, im going with the slim Alpine TME-S370 which is 6.5 inch.

Anyone intrested i will sell the xenarc 7" brand new to anyone with the 05 and up let me know.

Update....

ALPINE going under the knife..

as you can see both the LCD and mother board fits into the 03-04 housing.. only one problem....

the case below is 1/4" too wide and the thing that caused issues was that since it's a touch screen.. it only operates via touching.. so to turn on we had to get the film that's on the front of the LCD. So this process took a while to figure out because the film is embedded into the case see below.

Well everything was figured out and as you can see im very happy with the results below..

After months and months and $$$ and months here is the end results!!!

nice job NYQeenz... i read up on the manuals... does this actually have a VGA input that you can connect a carputer up to? and if so, does it have USB to hook up to the carputer with? what are you using as your video source?

the Alpine is just a video monitor that has a module with the AV connects for Cam/Video/Sound input.

the Xenarc 700TSV unit has everything else to work a CarPC.

ok... update for you guys... got the Lilliput 7" in my 2004 Housing finally (at least as a prototype to make sure it works).... took some significant cutting but i am confident it will work 100% when i order the new one in (the g35 is my friends, i was testing it with my existing screen).... it was a pretty hairy modification... If my screen was 1/16th of an inch taller i think i could still get it to work but no more then that (Lilliput screen is 4 and 1/16th height while stock housing only allows 3 and 15/16th of an inch max.

here are some pics.

i can still use the button and screen will pop out as usual... basically all thats inside the case that is stock is the locking mechanism, the upside down 'U' bracket that triggers the side locks when u press the button, and the plastic guide clip to keep it in place. I also used the stock screen computer bracket in there (its in the bottom right of the third pic), and insulated it from frying the liliput mainboard by covering it with duck tape.

The Liliput screen has 3 main components: the screen, the mainboard, and a control board (buttons and IR sensor and such). The screen and mainboard are connected via ribbon cables (hard to extend) but the control board is connected via pretty standard wires... I plan to relocate the control board to somewhere else (by extending the wires) in the housing or car as its extra wide and likely wont fit nicely in the housing.
