Possible to polish glass?

So I recently got a porter cable, some pads and some Poor Boys SSR2.5 and SSR1 and have been working on my dad's Camry. I've been able to get a lot of the swirls and scratches out. However I've noticed that its not just the body, but the windows and windshield are full of swirls and scratches as well. I have heard of people using clay bars and even waxing the windows, is it possible to say polish out the swirls in the glass with a porter cable? Or is this a bad idea?

Polish Glass, ha, reminds me of a joke.

How does the new Polish Navy see the old Polish Navy?

With glass bottom boats.

DANGE DANGER DANGER!!! Polishing can cause a variance in the thickness of the glass. That translates to a non-uniform view when you are looking out the window. You would see a bit of a wave as you look at objects. If you do polish, try to polish uniformly over the entire surface and don't concentrate on any particular mark too much or there will be a wavy spot there when you are finished.

I've haven't had a chance to polish my windows / windshields, but I do wax them every now and then. I use Clearkote Vanilla Moose Wax...works well

griot's garage makes some really great glass polish... in fact they have a regular polish and a finer/final polish.... both work very well...... griot's stuff isnt the cheapest you can get but it's very good stuff and a great company to deal with

Thanks guys, I've done some Googling and seems like most places refer to Autoglym which is really just a cleaner not really an polish. I'll just clay the windows followed by some rain-x and call it a day.

Rainex at your own risk

You can never completely remove rainex from your window surface.h
