you should get a wax job.
I also have black and I just got a good clay wax done and all my scratches are gone for the time being.

+1

I scuffed the clear coat on my trunk lid (Diamond Graphite) in a couple places trying to get off some tree sap. I was pleasantly surprised at how well ScratchX worked -- I can hardly tell where the marks were. Don't forget to wax afterward.

If your trying to restore the surface so it looks perfect I recommend a two step polish. For hand applications the Poorboy's World SSR 2.5 and SSR 1.0. If you have a buffer than I would recommend the Menzerna Intensive Polish and Final Polish II. The first polish (SSR 2.5 or Intensive Polish) will remove the majority of the fine scratches but may leave a slight haze. Follow up this coat with a lighter polish (SSR 1.0 or Final Polish II) and it will restore a bright glow to the surface. After this then I would top it with your favorite sealant and/or wax. Your paint should look as good as new after this process, let us know how your results come out.

+1 , Waxing will only cover up the scratches temporarily, whereas polishing will blend them in with the rest of the car.

I contacted Poorboys about their polish lineup and what to use by hand before I got myself a random orbital, and they recommend you use SSR2 and nothing stronger if polishing by hand. I was told SSR2.5 may leave too much of a haze by hand and require tremendous effort with a finishing polish. I may be wrong, but maybe contacting them would be a good idea.
