sillicon treatment?

Hi,

I Don't know if it is called sillicon treatment or something else, but I heard you could treat the exterior of your car with some materail to preserve the paint, etc. My dealership was trying to make me do it when I bought my car, for about 695$. Is this worth it? Does it even work, and also I heard if you do it you cannot wax the car anymore? so would the paint stay good but it will look ****ty?

Thanks

Teflon...i think dupoint offers a new teflon protection for the paint its like a stronger wax it works as a sheild against mud and other bigger objects that wax cant protect...

nothing is worth that. it tells more of the nature of the dealer. they are trying to get you to buy something that costs them maybe $20. i'd find another dealer.
when I bought my 03c in dec. 02, cerritos infinity had the coupes jacked up 5k full of dealer add on crap. so I went to another dealer (glendale).

I rather get my car detailed 7 times for the money you'd be spending on telfon coating. Sure it'll protect your vehicle's paint better than what's coming out from the factory but as long as you maintain your cars appearance by waxing hear and there, everything should be fine.
