Just use soap and water man. I read to many post when people use the wrong type of spray on rim cleaner.
You don't want your rims to look like this. This one done by Eagle one rim cleaner. I'm not sure which one the guy used.

About a month ago I started using Sonus Gel Wheel Cleaner and a wheel cleaning brush and am very happy with the results:

As for the tires, I clean them with regular car soap using the same brush I use on the wheels (rinse the brush thouroughly so as to not mix cleaning products).
You can also use 303 Aerospace Protectant on your tires. Looks good.
