i need some serious help.

my exterior paint has seriously like.. i don't know. Needless to say, I have not taken care of my car to well. I have waxed in the past, but obviously I did not follow proper directions.

what is the best way to restore original shine to my car? I am willing to spend money and time to get it done.

Thank you in advance. I will try and get up some pictures of my car after a wash. The car is clean.. but there seems to be no shine? If that makes any sense.

wash, clay bar (remove surface contaminants) , paint cleaner (remove minor swirls) , polish, then several coats of wax. If its serious swirl city, you might have to get a detailer to use a buffer on it.

+1 and more!

If you really want to learn to do this yourself please educate yourself by visiting the sites listed above. Research and learn the proper way to achieve the results you desire. It takes time but if you are really into wanting a great looking paint finish it is more than worth your time to get into this. Detailing is a very self gratifying experience and you will save time/$$ if you learn to do your own.

If you get into reading the information on the sites above and you realize that following the correct procedures is NOT something you want to do then you will be better off letting a professional do it. This is especially true for the initial removal of the defects.

Good luck!
