Cigarette Burnhole: Vinyl Repair?

Let me start by saying no-one smokes in my car. Let me also say that I'm an idiot and let my brother smoke in my car. No more than 15 minutes later, I noticed two small burn holes in the top of the vinyl on the door panel. Its not horrific, but I'd like to repair it as best I can.

Does anyone know of the best way to repair that type of material?

Check with your dealership....most of them have outside repair people come in on sight and repair things like rims, leather etc.......I'm sure they have a service to repair the door vinyl material as well....

Good luck

They use a liquid to fill the burn or hole and then place a texture patch that will match your vinyl's grain until it dries. Some of those guys do really good work. Others don't. Try that, and if it doesn't come out the way you want, buy a new panel.

the best way to fix (replace) your door panel is to get a loaner

+1 I had a tint shop burn a small hole in my passenger door panel. They called out a professional that works at bmw dealership that specializes in restoring carpets and burn holes in vinyl and cloth interiors. He used the exact method that Heikes described to patch my door panel. Slighy noticeable if you are looking for it, but otherwise its hidden. Check with your nearest dealership or start searching the phone book.
