Getting started with AIO
Getting started with AIO
I must confess, despite posting on this forum. I am a non-detailer (not even close) , and knowing I have limited skills/time/patience, I had not planned on joining the Zaino camp as I know my character is such that I can't be bothered wtih mixing accelerants, or waiting hours between applications or dealing with too many products.
HOWEVER, the new Zaino AIO seems to be perfect for guys like me. ie I can wash (properly), dry, apply AIO, do some Z6'ing in between....and I should be in good shape. Once I get the hang of it, and to the extent I want to take the time, I could/should add the Z2-pro applications - by then I'll better understand where you guys are coming from!!
As I am starting with a new car, is AIO a good choice for me?
I am still unclear on the difference between Z6, Z8 and now CS! Like I said, too many products!
Thanks for your patience! On one hand I want to do it right ; on the other, I don't want to get in over my head!

I have been old school Megs from the beginning. Talk about a huge product line of products... I tried Zaino with a skeptical eye and I was impressed with the ease of use with their entire product line. The big flaws in their product line has been primarily two issues:
- you have to have the paint in good shape, prior to using Zaino due to it's glossy nature.
- prior to ZAIO and ZCS, Zaino was not friendly to other product lines. In other words, once you use Zaino, you are locked in.
Z6 is a QD. It has no protection or durability. Z8 is not really a QD. It's a topper, strictly a beauty product with no durability.
ZCS has a rated durability of 9 months. It's a sealant that you apply over Z2P or Z5P, OR your other favorite waxes or other favorite sealants. Once you applied ZCS, you can apply Z6 or Z8 as needed. Or you can top Z6 over Z2p or Z5p, then ZCS.
Z5P, uses fillers to disguise some very minor swirls - no abrasives. ZPC has diminishing abrasives for attacking more major swirls that Z5P can't possibly handle. But ZPC can be overkill for swirls too hard for Z5p but too minor for ZPC like cobwebs. Remember that Z5p is a disguiser, not a fixer. That is where ZAIO comes in. It's an AIO that sits in between Z5P and ZPC. It has the added benefit, of cleaning paint with some minor correcting attributes and a polish. You can stop there. Applying ZPC, you can't stop there. You need to apply a protectant after a ZPC session. Hence, the ZAIO fills in the product line where you can clean the paint and protect it at the same time. These two additions to the Zaino line were important. It augments the gaps in the product line, plus these two products play well with other manufacturers products, whereas before you were married to Zaino. So it gives the current Zaino users more flexibility, as well as other non-Zaino users an alternative without totally buying into their entire product line. I hope I made that clear. It's all good.
