GL, you will be happy when you see how well it works. Do a few applications with a good microfiber towel.

 

alright guys i bought the Scratch X stuff and it worked! for the most part =/ i only applied it once for today so i'll do somemore tomorrow. at least the badges went to better places... like my friends 318ti haha

 

yea, hand polishing takes some time and some muscle

 

mine was exactly like yours when i took it off, what you need is some alcohol to clean the glue and then wax and polish the area. it will make it less visible.

With all the hundreds of posts about debadging how could you guys screw
it up sooooo bad. Always do a search on a topic before you start..........
that's one reason your here........knowledge! Papertowels....if you wouldn't
wipe your butt with a papertowel never use one on your G.....or maybe you
would. Come on guys, debadging is a simple process that can be done in
less than an hour and done right. No more flames.............!

 

What are you guys thinking, alcohol on paint..........never!! GooGone is what
will remove the glue and not damage the painted surface or WD40 if you have
nothing else.........NOT ALCOHOL!

I love these "de-badging" threads. What's the point? It's not like anyone does not know what kind of car it is. A G is a G. Oh, wait... maybe you want someone to think it's an X? I mean, smooth is one thing. But doing damage to the paint removing lettering? I don't get it.

 

they aren't paying me anything to advertise their logo. it just looks cleaner imo

I hear ya, and I'm with you to a degree... I once freaked out on a saleman after I told him in advance that I would not allow any dealer logos or stickers on my new '87 Mustang. He agreed. Of course, when I went to pick up the car they had DRILLED and RIVETED a chrome "Taconic Ford" logo to the rear hatch. I lost it. They offered to remove it and "fill" the holes. I got my money back and bought elsewhere.

Maybe it's a rice thing with me... like when guys try to make their '91 Civic HX's look like Si's. Advertising the dealer name is one thing; nobody doesn't know it's an Infiniti.

 

wow man, that blows on the mustang, i woulda been ticked. and the worst thing i see on the road are the big huge windshield stickers across the front that say "Powered by Civic" when it should read "powered by honda"

Ethanol is the safest solvant for the glue underneath the letters. Much better than the petroleum based WD40.
