debadging went bad. =(
debadging went bad. =(
Yesterday I decided to debadge the "I N F I N I T I" letters, which went well and i kept the G35 badge on the car. but later i just decided to rush before the sun went down and i couldn't find any microfiber cloths so i used a paper towel
looks like it left tiny microscopic scratches everywhere around the "G35" and it is still visible after a coat of wax last night. here's some pics:

What do I do now???

If theres any consolation, I messed up on my debadging as well. Mine was worse than yours. Since it was an 03.5, the glue was stuck on pretty good. I had to resort to using a razor blade(big no-no). I had to rub it off with goo-gone and it made matters worse. I used touch up paint to cover it up. It's not a pretty sight. Now i have to find a body shop to fix what supposed to be an easy job.
my friend had this problem, he went to auto zone and got something like scratch doctor and it fixed it w/o a problem, the paint and clear coat look brand new, you should try if the scratches aren't deep Ill gurantee it'll work. 10 bucks and its fixed, plus u have the bottle for any other minor scratches you have.

I had the same problem but I washed the car and waxed the car. After the wax I took an orbital polisher with some Mugeuires Tech Wax and polished the trunk lid for 45 minutes. It looked like the logo was never there.
Not familiar with ScratchX but had the same problem. You may need to use rubbing compound, then polishing compound, then the wax. Might try polishing compound first.
General rule is to use as least abrasive as possible to get job done. If that product doesn't work, go to a little more cut.
Don't do in circle. Go side to side if you do it by hand.

when I de-badge, i remove badges via heat gun, than I rub out the adhesive w/ light polish.

dun use rubbing compound -- way to aggressive. just a light polish and some (ok...alot of) rubbing will be just fine. keep polishing until it goes away...lol only use the rubbing compound if polish has no effect after like an hour of polishing
. megs scratch X is really nice, it will become your best friend. strong enough to work in by hand, but not enough to dull the paint or cause any further scratches.

When, I removed my "INFINITI" i used a hair dryer for a minute on each letter pulled it back a little bit with my fingernail and pulled if off CAREFULLY with a double edged blade w/o touching the car, w/e residue was left from the 3m tape I pushed off with my finger and it worked fine w/o scratches.
But anyway scratch x is same as scratch doctor. Same difference
