Z5 suppose to help cover fine scratches. my question is if you can use Z5 by itself? do you need Z1 and Z2?

Re: Question - Zaino Z5

Yes Z-5 will do a great job of covering fine scratches. What I do is put on 2 coats of Z-5 let it cure overnight, and then put on 2 coats of Z-2 to finish.
If you're in a cold climate, you'll need the ZFX cure accelerator to succeed.

Re: Question - Zaino Z5

so is Z1 or Zfx not needed? my plan is to clean the paint (claybar/polish/cleaner) then apply Z5, then a carbunaba wax.

Re: Question - Zaino Z5

Yes you can use Z-5 by itself. The Z-2 will just deepen the shine, but you don't have to use it.
The ZFX is an accelerator which you'll need for the Z-5 to cure and dry if it's cold.
No need for Z-1.

Re: Question - Zaino Z5

so wait, after you apply 2 coats of z-5, you put 2 more coats on top of the z-5 without buffing the old z-5?

Re: Question - Zaino Z5

No bro. You apply one coat of Z-5 and once it's dry, buff if off. In between coats it's wise to apply Z-6 to keep things clean. Then another coat of Z-5 then Z-6.
Next day, do the same with Z-2 (and Z-6).
Don't forget the wheels. It helps keep the dist off them.

Re: Question - Zaino Z5

all I have ever read specifies that you need to use other the ZFX or the Z-1. The polish lok chemically reacts witht eh Z-5 to produce it's hard shine. Here is a link to zaino's website. http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...de=APPLICATION You might be able to use the Z-5 alone but your not getting the best effect by skiping the Z-1 or zfx

Re: Question - Zaino Z5

Have you considered using the Z1, Z2/3, Z5 combination in place of the carnauba wax? To each his own, but IMO the Zaino is easier and faster than wax. Plus, it gives a better shine. Wax physically bonds with paint. Zaino chemically bonds with the paint.
