Carbon Fiber engine cover $89

What do you all think of this:

Its for sale on ebay for $89, I found another site on the internet selling the exact same thing for $150.
I'm thinking about getting it!

Re: Carbon Fiber engine cover $89

for real... no ****... lol

if you have the new plenum, or don't like the look of the big cover we got (especially after changing intake), or want a different look, or have the engine run cooler, then this is a good alternative to the 350z cover.

It says nothing on it about nissan or infiniti, it simply says V6 3.5 (the engine we and the Z share!)

It with a polished plenum would look reall hot!
IMHO

I think if you had your intake manifold polished, it would look really sweet. However, just to take off our cover and add this wouldn't do much for the car.

The more I read here, the more I think people will buy ANYTHING that comes out for their car just to be the first to have it or just to make their car different. I'm not talking about you in particular, because I do like the cover, but it needs more.

If you look at the G35 with the TwinTurbo from GReddy that was at the SEMA show you will notice that it has the 350Z cover as well with a crome intake and I think it looks hot. The carbon fibre cover would look even better IMO.

Re: Carbon Fiber engine cover $89

I don't think anyone looking into this part were thinking it was going to "do anything to the car" in terms of performance, but rather just a cosmetic enhancement. I also disagree that people are just getting this stuff to be the first to have it. It's all about personalization and originality, the two key factor to any custom ride. Its the reason why they make colored wire loom, anodized bolts and hardware, chrome parts and accessories, and like in this case carbon fiber engine covers. Quite often its the attention to such detail that draws others to say "wow, that's cool". I personally think this engine cover is pretty cool, and at the price its going for, a good deal. Polishing the intake will only add to the "cool factor"! I just might pick one up...

Re: Carbon Fiber engine cover $89

I agree, that this carbon fiber cover would look a lot cooler if it covered the entire engine.... Too bad and for $89, I would want to see something like that. Does look nice though, but wouldn't do it to my car without a cover that more fits my liking.
