if not thru clearcoat, do the scratches just stay on that layer of clear coat until u re-clear?

If your wheels are actually clearcoated, and not anodized, and the scratches are only in the clear, you can try polishing them out by hand with any swirl remover/polish such as meg's scratch-x or equiv, but the issue is not know how thick the clearcoat is in that area. You'll probably be okay doing it by hand, but if you try to take a machine to it, you'll probably go through the clear. If its an anodized clear, you are pretty much out of luck and you'll have to strip the anodizing to polish out any scratches

any idea what coating my ro_ja's have? they're two piece, made when ro_ja was still owned by rays . . .
