Wax over Zaino...Can I? Should I?

Wax over Zaino...Can I? Should I?
Need some quick advice...
I'm getting ready to do my first detail on my Black 07 Sedan.
I bought the recommended Zaino products (thanks to some help from this forum) but have one last question...
I love the way cars look (especially black ones) after multiple layers of z5/z2/z6 but from what I can tell Zaino products are polishes, not waxes.
Should I throw a coat of wax on top at the end to help protect my car from the endless amounts of crap that seems to bounce off my car on a weekly basis. Or...will that coat of wax F up the hours of work I did with the Zaino.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

you can, most zaino users love the way it comes out right after the sealent. I too love the way FMJ looks after application, no wax needed.
If you want to wax your car i would suggest a carnuba wax like p21s. I will occasionallyuse this to top my FMJ every now and then. Waxes like nxt will strip away some of your sealent, just like most waxes on the market (black magic, turtle wax, meguiars...)

yes you can use wax over zaino, however, it has to be pure carnuba wax like liuser says P21s. I use it over my zaino and it gives it a warmer shine. Also once you put that top coat of carnuba you cant use any synthetic quick detailers because they strip off the wax that you just put on. you have to use quick detailers that are forumated for carnuba wax

Thanks Guys!
I'm glad I asked...I have 2 different (at least) waxes, one of which is the NXT.
I'll find a nice carnuba (who makes p21?) wax and give it a whirl.
I just feel like I need a little more protection from rock chips. In my experience having a good coat of nice hard carnuba wax helps reduce the number of rock chips.
Thanks again

Sure you can. As a few others have stated, you can apply a carnuba wax over Z2/Z5. I am not really sure what the purpose would be if you are happy with the appearance that Zaino provides you. Z2/Z5 is extremely durable and you don't need to apply them nearly as often as you would a wax.
Btw, Zaino Z2 & Z5 are not polishes, they are synthetic sealants.

One thing to consider if you topcoat with wax, you'll need to strip if off if you want to add on additional coats of Zaino. Z2 lasts pretty long on it's own, no additional products needed. I let my car go for a 6mo period and washed maybe twice in that time and it still had a semi smooth finish and beaded water. It's the longest lasting polish/wax I've ever used.
