2 dollar solution to foggy headlights

I have the 3M plastic polish for my headlights I pad $13 for the stuff well I didn't have it in my car (GF must have hijacked it behind my back ) so I decided to use my Kit Scratch Out the stuff comes in a yellow bottle and you can get it for less than $2 at Walmart. I use it on my wheels mostly but it has the same texture as the 3M stuff just not as thick. I read the bottle and it says it's clear coat safe so I wasn't worried about scratching my headlights so I decided to experiment. I cleaned the headlight with some water and then applied the Scratch out rubbed it in for about 20 seconds to get a nice haze on the headlights. Wiped off the excess and the headlights are as clean as they are when I use my 13 dollar 3M plastic polish

My garage is dark so I couldn't get a good before and after shot of the haze on my headlights before I used this stuff but for those of you that want a cheaper alternative try the Kit Scratch out at your own risk of course...

Once you get them clean, install a set of 3M clear bra covers and it won't come back.

Good to know. I need to buy something to get rid of the haze. So the bottle says "Kit Scratch Out" on it?

Also, why did you have to use it on your wheels? You had some scratches & this stuff actually works for $2 ?

Thanks

Jimmyc13 it's a mild polish so I use it on my wheels and my brushed aluminum trim on the inside of the car. the bottle says Kit Scratch Out and yes it works really well.

Any fine cut compound will work. If you go to a friendly bodyshop, they can usually give you a few ounces for free.
