I just polished my black G for the first time. I would say you could get away with a basic package to at least get you started.
• Porter cable - around $100
• 3 Orange pads (lake country) $60
• 3 White pads $60
• Marenza 106FF polish $50
• Sears light stand (500W) $40
• Microfiber towels

As you can see it gets expensive even to get started. You may need a more aggressive polish for some areas, but 106FF is a good 1 step polish. You could always just pay someone to do it. Once you make the initial investment it gets cheaper. Picus112 is the guru on this board.

I owned a black car......once and never again. I'm too **** retentive and it would bug the crap outta me if I couldn't get it just right.

Silver or white for me thank you very much.

I have an IP right now and it doesn't seem to hide the dirt as well as I thought it would but I still love the color.

I had my car since day one and if I look very hard in the light from the street maps, I can see some swirls, but that is about it. During the day time, you have to try and find the swirls by moving and looking at the correct angle. My family had 3 black cars, all had swirls that were very easily visible, which was the reason I went for Diamond Graphite. White, personally, is too girlish of a color (unless you mod it, then it looks like a girl's car that was modded ). I wanted Lakeshore but couldn't find one and now, I'm glad. It is a bit too powdery blue. I think the other color would be a darker blue. Anywho, the darker grey is Diamond Graphite, and it is the best of the colors I think to hide swirls AND look dark enough. Brilliant Silver looks nice too. That would be my second choice. BTW, I had my car for two years and haven't need to use the PC I bought a year ago.

Here you go check out this website, i as well own a black g, but mine is a coupe and i know how you feel. The paint is extremely "soft" on our cars so everything screws it up. My car was i guess starting to look pretty bad, but i baught some pinnacle XMT #1 and #2 swirl mark remover and it worked wonders.

Save your money on wax and pay to get it buffed! Looks like someone did a number on your car, those are not normal swirls. Looks like 600 grit sandpaper, used dry.

I don't think Zaino will help unless you use a lot (tons) of elbow grease. You need to have it buffed and polished, then come back with Z CS and Z2 (about $50 total) or if it still has small scratches try some Z5. I've never used it but have also never had a car so scratched up.

Good luck. I feel your pain!

Here's my fresh Zaino Job, I love this stuff.

wich Zaino did you use ?

I used a clay bar, but it was pretty slick already. It’s only a few months old. Then hit it with Z-CS the Clear Seal which you wipe on and let dry. They came back with two coats of Z 2 pro. What I like best is, there is no white powdery residue.
