smelly cabin filter
i took my old high school tutor to the market the other day, and she bought some food, i didn't have the heart to tell her to put the food in the trunk, like i usually do, and now my car smells like smelly fish
i cleaned the carpets and leather, and i couldn't understand why there was still that smell.
finally, i traced the smell to the in cabin filter, which i took out and it seriously smelled like rotten fish..
my question is, is it ok to leave the the filter out for a couple days until i get a new one? if i barely use the a/c it doesn't really matter right?

Since most cars don't have any filter anyway, you should be okay. Just don't drive through any really dusty conditions since the dust that enters your car will coat the heater ducts and you won't be able to clean them. Also, since mold and other spores may land on your AC condensor, you may get that "smelly-socks" smell after A/C shut-down more, and you'll have to disinfect it.
