Turtle Wax Liquid Clay: Anyone use this? Thoughts?

Hey all,

Just saw this product at my local advance auto parts store. Just wanted to see if anyone used this? I'm used to Meguiar's Clay kit and wanted to see if this is good. TIA for the info!

IMO i wouldn't put friggin Turtle wax on my car. Even if it is only a liquid clay bar. Just buy Zaino kit or Meguiars kit or the new clay bar kit from Mothers. The Mothers kit comes with a lubricating spray that you use with the clay bar they supply. Myself if I need to claybar my car I just use Zaino products. But lately I've been using the Meguiars NXT tech wax to just keep the G lookin good. Fast easy to apply and remove and it conceals the little swirls and nicks our paint gets.

I'd just stick to the Meguiar's clay you're using now.

Thanks! That's what i was thinking...How do you like applying the Zaino in this texas heat? I see your're from H-town as well...If it doesn't rain this weekend I'd like to do a detail to clay and everything.

If u have the time and patience to use Zaino its the best sealant and polish I've ever used. If u arent a meticulous detailer then I think Mequiars Tech wax is a good choice for off the shelf auto parts store wax.
Personally I liked the Zaino better when I drove my C5 it produced a very clear glossy wet shine. I had a white vette so I didn't want to use anything hat would change the color of the vehicle (ie carnuba products) they will yellow a white car. My G is Lakeshore Slate and it is a much easier color to maintain at least imo. Good luck bro with whatever u use. I just hope it dont rain this weekend on us.

Yeah I've been thinking of going the Zaino route. Especially since they have an All-in-one now that you can use with a polisher/buffer.

Well, since it's friggin raining on us and cold as shiet outside i'm glad i didn't get to detail. I just ended up doing a plain wash for some photo op pics with nyckid from the boards. check out the South forum. If you're down we'll definitely like more peeps to come out next time we take pics.

What did this product not do for you? I hope it didn't end up scratching the clear coat

Well, it stripped my wax. Oh ya, and I think thats about it. Its comparable to your everyday dishwasher soap.

It is nowhere as effective as a normal claybar.

I will never use turtle wax. My dad used some of that cheap azz stuff on a vette we had about 20 yrs ago. He applied a coat to the entire car and we had hell getting that crap off. it ended up ruining the paint. We got the car repainted a year later. So the turtle can stay at Walmart as far as i'm concerned. I will only use Zaino, Meguiars, or PS21 products on my car.
