I know this thread is alittle lame but i cant seem to get my windows streak free...and its such a pain to clean the back windows in the g...im looking at buying this stuff what do you think?

I'd say try some RainX. It works fine for me. There are a number of things you could do also. I start with a razor blade and a small amount of Windex and just slide it across the windshield (you'd be suprised with the amount of gook that comes off). I then get one of those micro fiber winshield rags and wipe the window and then I use some RainX.

newspaper and windex works well. i haven't found anything that is better than newspaper. you can use different solvents too.

stoner's 'invisible glass' and balled up newspaper is THE method to use and cost effective. just spray it all over the window, wipe it dry using new pages often and repeat if necessary. windows are crystal clear.

Newspaper works wonders for windows. I only do it when I have a show or something important comming up.

From my personal experience, we carry or should I say carried Diamondite (I have a few misc. bottles remaining) and the product line in general wasn't on par with other companies and they charged a heck of a lot more for their products. I decided to discontinue the line from our store and no longer deal with them. Stoner's and the Glass Science Line are better performing products at lower price points.

+1, I have been using this stuff for a while, it works great.

I have heard some insane things about the Zaino window cleaner, its got nothing but high praise from people who have used it that I know..

its ultra cheap, but i love cinch glass cleaner from any local store... works great for me

stoner's stick together ...also if you don't get the newspaper, coffee filters work great...the big round, white kind like you put in a Mr. Coffee

I think he meant the back window.. inside the car.. It's almost impossible to clean.. And newspaper will scuff up your tint.

My reco is to use 2 different brands of cleaners. I found that Stoners and NXT glass cleaner work well. After reading about it on Autopia, I gave it a shot and it works really well. The reason is supposedly due to the chemicals in the cleaner. Different manufacturers use slightly different combos and following up with the second brand removes the streaks left behind from the first. Order doesn't really matter.

Newspapers is an old trick and since the new inks were used for the presses, all you'll really get is a mess. Sure it may work, but I feel there is better.

I can not stress how well WINDOW MF's (Extremely short nap) work! I was concvinced after cleaning windows with paper towels, t hinking they were clean and followed up with the Window MF's. I couldn't believe how much more dirt came off the glass with the MF's. This is immediately after I "cleaned" with paper towels. I am sure George at Detailed Image carries them....they are great. Pick up 4-6 and keep 3 for inside and 3 for outside glass.

Start off with a dry MF, spray cleaner on MF to avoid overspray, and wipe glass. Then follow up with dry MF for a streak free finish! Works great. When teh drying MF gets too damp, make that the cleaning one and the 3rd one will be your drying MF.

Your glass will be much cleaner than you thought they could ever be!

Diesel1 - Great write up. This is the same process I follow. Cleaning glass is one of my least favorite thing to do, but once you find a routine that works, it doesn't make it so bad.

I agree, the short nap Glass Microfiber Towels make a difference. I am planning on doing an extensive write up soon explaining the differences of specific microfiber towels, like a waffle weave vs. polish removal towel vs. an ultra plush one for quick detailing vs. ultra short nap for windows, etc.

I'll be away this weekend, but hopefully by the end of the following weekend I can have that prepared for everyone.

Also, I have heard good things about that NXT cleaner as well. I do enjoy Glass Science's Glass Scrub for my exterior windows. It works wonders on water spots and other lime and mineral deposits. Have you had a chance to try that yet?

I've had good luck with Invisible Glass. You can pick it up at Napa or Autozone. Streak free and safe on tints I've used it for over a year with no problems. On exterior I use Rain X keeps glass clean and spot free.
