Leather/interior cleaning - product choices

The leather in this car (and vinyl trim) have a matte/low gloss finish/sheen...but most cleaniing/conditioning products leave a high gloss finish.

What products work best for the 07 G to keep the interior clean yet maintain the original look?

The products that I use on my interior are this and this. Both are great products and I am completely happy with both of them.

I have always been a fan of Zaino products especially their leather cleaner and conditioner. Many on Autopia use a water/woolite mixture (Typically 6 parts water to 1 part woolite for cleaning their interiors....EVERYTHING in the interior. I tried it on my truck the other day which hasn't been cleaned since Moses received the 10 commandments....anywho, despite not doing it per instructions (Most guys use a brush to agitate) it worked really well! I just sprayed on and wiped off with a low nap MF. I was just testing and will do the real deal when I detail the beater. AFter cleaning, I will condition with Zaino.

I will say it cleaned better than my can of stoners trim cleaner and it's MUCH cheaper!

yep, the Aerospace 303 product is excellent. goofy name, great results.

it will not leave a high gloss sheen after application, nor is it greasy.

Ive been a fan of lexol cleaner/conditioner products. Leaves a natural look on the leather and stops/prevents the leather from cracking. Stressed leather is ugly to me, so i always use lexol to keep it fresh. Just dont expect a bubblegum smell or something from it, it does carry a chemical like smell unless they changed it in the last year or so? Get a scented tree to kill that.

If anyone needs help w/ the directions on how to properly use the Prestine Clean or Rejuvenator Oil let me know.

Hi George,

I recently purchased a prestine clean/rejuvenator oil bundle from your web site. Thanks for getting that shipped out on the same day even though I placed the order at 3pm EST!

The instructions for both the prestine clean and rejuventor oil indicate that a "generous amount" needs to be applied. How do I know when I've applied enough (when the leather stops absorbing it quickly)? How much of the product should be on the leather when I let it soak in?

Any info will be helpful.

Thanks!

I use Zaino also. I use the z-9 then the z-10. I use an applicator pad to apply both products. I use a seperate pad for each but thats up to you. I think its the best leather products I've found.

How does Zaino compare to the Groit's leather cleaning and conditioning products? I'm trying to decide whether to buy the big Zaino kit, or the smaller one and get different interior products.

I use the Lexol cleaner and the Lexol conditioner. They both do an excellent job. It leaves a natural finish and no gloss.

From my experience i really like the connolly leather care products. I have tan leather and i always drive with the windows down so the interior as you can imagine gets pretty dirty and this stuff works great!

here is an example kit http://autogeek.net/colecakit.html
