Oxo Car Duster -- so much grease

Months ago, I decided to shell out more for the Oxo Ultimate Car Duster instead of the classic California Car Duster, because of its material quality. When I got it, the directions said to put it on newspaper (I used paper bags), so it'll absorb all the grease or whatever lubricant was on the cotton yarn.

I did that day after day, and every time the paper is SOAKED through, like someone had spilled oil on it. Even to this day, it's still releasing the grease onto the paper.

Am I doing this right? Am I supposed to leave some of it on the yarn? I wouldn't want any of that crap on my car, but I also want to make sure the duster will pick up all the dust and pollen properly.

What you are seeing is Parafin wax. They over saturate the duster with it( in a liquid form).
There should be some left on the mop its self, otherwise it wouldn't attract the dust. It would just smear the dust over the paint surface.

You will be fine. If you see any streaks on your paint, don't use the product. Remember that its just for removing a light coating of dust from your car.
