clay bar in dallas area
anyone in dallas area recommend a good detailer to clay bar my car?
I was thinking of taking it to Vintage on Preston, since they regularly have Lambos, Astons, Bentleys, Porsches and the like in there.

considering a kit costs <$20, sounds like a ripoff to me, what type of wax are they using also? I'll bet its a wax as you dry product or another spray on if its only $49. I've seen full details from mobile detailers for $150 so $110 for a claybar is a ripoff
I agree with redlude97... Its really easy to do, plus it will save a lot of money. If you're gonna spend money on it, why not just get the car detailed COMPLETELY? (clay, cleaner, polish, wax) that is, if you dont want to do it yourself.
Well, I've never done it myself and as I was asking in another thread, never having done it before could I possibly screw up my paint? I don't know how much pressure to apply, how long to spend in one area, how much lube to put on, back in forth motion or circular motion.
Damn this is starting to sound perverse...
Maybe I'll look around some more for a full detail or something. Any info on actually doing the cly bar would be appreciated.

I did it for the first time last year. Simple and it would be hard to mess up your paint unless you dropped the clay bar on the ground and they smushed it into your paint.
Step 1) Wash and dry car
Step 2) Spray car with clay bar detailer or other liquid
Step 3) Gently roll the clay over a small service at a time, fold and repeat.
I am telling you, if I can do this, so can you. Start in a hard to see spot and go from there, you will get the hang of it in no time. AND will cost you about $20

I just clayed my car last night. I washed, rinsed. Then made another bucket with really soapy water and a new washcloth. Used the soapy water as lube vs the detailer. Worked great.
