Cat zZ.sleeping.Zz on the car

Hello,

Some cat was sleeping on my last car, the car was black, and it ended up leaving some damage on the hood right where it would chill.

Will a simple car cover work out? If the cat sleeps on top of that you think it will still cause some negative effects?

The cover may help from the scratches, but you need to make sure the cat stops sleeping on your car. if you don't it'll just sleep on the cover, and it still would have to walk on the car to get to its spot.. which might lead to scratches in the cover and eventually on the car againl

Kill the piece of ****e cat then whack the friggin owner too. Actually its not the dumb azz cats fault its the irresponsible pet owner who lets the amn cat sleep on other peples property. I have two english bull dogs I don't let them sleep or crap on my neighbors lawns or flower beds. Yet, where i live a cat owner can let their cat run free to cause damage to vehicles and crap in other peoples yards etc.. Its a double standard cat owners should have to keep their cats coralled just like dog owners are required too. For that very reason I cant stand most CAT PEOPLE. They think their cat should be able to roam that a load of horse dung. Through with my rant and btw good hunting.

I feel your pain on the cats. There's some cat that sleeps and pisses on my hood damn near every night. It's the craziest thing, the cat pissed on my hood, and now there's two streaks going down the hood that I can't get out. I washed the car and used a claybar, and it won't come off. Not sure what to do. I think the cat's a stray, so no owner to go and complain to!

From what I heard, if you put a cover on the car, the cat will climb up under the cover and make even more of a mess, so i'm not doing that. I did read somewhere that when people want to keep cats off of their counters (if you own the cat and it's on your house), you can put chili powder down and the cat will learn not to jump up there after it tastes the chili powder on their paws. Another idea was to get those floor mats that you put under a rolling chair, flip it upside down, and when the cat jumps on it, it'll hit the sharp points and jump down. I think i'm going to go buy a really cheap set of floor mats for my car (since the one side is a soft carpet), and put them upside-down on my car hood and see if the cat stops jumping up.

Anyways, hope that helps. I'll see how it goes. Good luck with your cat problem. If they weren't so damn fast, I would definitely catch it and let it go somewhere far far away!

Get a garage to put your car in at night. That will keep the cats off!

Cat or any type of urine is acidic and that will explaine why you have the two lines running down your hood. Claybaring will not lift the stain. You may have to have your car buffed if the damage isn't too bad. As for trying to keep the cats away from your car I am beyond giving you an explination for this other than to scare it away.

Some of the custom car covers (ie covercraft) are very tight fitting w/ elastic along the bottom edges; it would be unlikey that the cat could crawl underneath it.

I may go get the car buffed and see if that helps. After reading all of the posts in the care & detailing section, I feel like going out and buying all of the stuff to do it myself! Some of the pictures people post of cars they've detailed look awesome, really professional. True about the car covers, if they fit really well, they may work.

What are your thoughts on putting a car cover on a dirty car though? Will it scratch the paint? It's hard to keep the car clean all of the time!
