Re-attaching lip spoiler

I've already posted this in Tech & Mods, but wanted to cross-post here since you guys know your paint! I just got a JDM lip spoiler from al503 (who rocks!) and want to attach it to the trunk of my sedan. It was originally affixed using a 3M tape (presumably double-sided). I'm going to need to remove the existing tape, apply some new tape, and affix it to my trunk. Does anybody have any insight on how this can be done/where materials can be obtained/special methods that'll make it go smoothly?
