What I feared(dent) had came true:(

I have less them 800 mile on my brand new DG coupe. I baby her to death and I rarely if ever park her unattended except on my own driveway. Yesterday, I decided to head down to my local walmart to pick up on supplies and parked her far away from everyone esle. Then I came back and found a quarter size ding on my right rear panel. I just wanted to cry and was pissed!!! Am I overreacting here? I knew this would come, but not this soon when the car is soo new.

I immediately called my body collision center and they said it would cost $100.00 for a paintless dent repair. I've heard good things about this on the forum and was curious to how they fix it? Do they take out the panel and and hammer it out from the other side?

You're not overreacting...I've been forunate enough that nothing has hapenned to my car in the 3 months that I've had it and I know that as soon as something does (because it's inevitable) I'll probably lose it.

Keeping this in mind, i know something will, so finally i've basically said screw it and I don't park 5 miles away from everything anymore. I do try to park in spots that aren't high traffic and preferribly next to a curb or something so only 1 person can park next to me (when possible).

PDR is great. There is a guy local to me who does an unbelievable job and I've had him work on my last car.

They basically press the dent out from the back of the panel using specialized tools.

Same crap happened to me. I was at walmart around 1030 PM came back out to a salad bowl size dent in my rear bumper. No note, no witnesses. Got the accident on video, but the walmart cameras suck. It cost me 1K to replace. grrr...I feel your pain!

+1

The exact method of repair, tools used and panel removal depends on the location of the dent, type of vehicle, nature of damage.

Probably some idiot left the shopping cart, and it rolled into your car....

Sorry to hear it.

PDR fixed a small crease on my pass side wheel well, right on the lip....I never thought in a million years it could be repaired without body work/paint.

They got it out about 99%. So much in fact, that I can't even find it now.....
Best $100 I ever invested.

Good luck with your repair

I too have excellent experiences regarding PDR. Always amazed at what they can do and is very cost effective.
