Rock chip...

Rock chip...
After washing my car this past weekend, saw this rock chip on the hood, I can actually see the white layer (metal?). I just gotta say this, G has the weakest paint I have ever experienced, my 96 Civic has less rock chips than my 2 months old G (granted, I have already become indifferent about the chips on the bumper, that's what bumper is there for, but not the hood... ) so my question is, is G's hood made of aluminum? cuz in that case, it won't rust, right? or I should take actions immediately to fix the chip?

i'd fix the chip - someone tried breaking into my G and chiped the paint on my door and bent the door up a little acutally. it looked like they tired jimming the lock somehow -- well I did not want to turn into insurance and I went to get it fixed and they told me it was going to be around 1500. I did not have the money so i did not fix it and it has rusted now. The paint for my ivory pearl is expensive since it is a triple coat. I do not know if all the colors are that way or just the ivory pearl. I would recommend you buying touch up paint if you do not want to paint the enitre hood and fixing it that way. At least you wont be able to tell at a glance.
I do think that our hood is aluminum but you will stare and the chip and it will bother the crap out of you. Fix it, hope it cheap if you choose to paint the whole hood and hope that they will not have to paint the fenders or just get it touched up for now so it won't rust or bother you.
I was forgetfull since the chip is on my passanger door and didn't think that it would rust that quick. Out of site out of mind. Don't mess up like I did. Good luck.
