Aluminum Pedals Installed *Pics*

I installed aluminum pedals in my sedan today. The kit came from Autovation Technologies. You can see their web site here www.autovation.net I actually bought them through eBay, which saved me a little cash. The matte finish kit for the automatic transmission retails for $109, I paid $85 plus $5.50 shipping. Installation was very straightforward with the right tools. I didn’t have a center punch, so drilling the holes was a little tricky on the metal parts (brake pedal and parking brake pedal). The gas pedal and dead pedal are plastic and easy to drill through. I think that the kit looks great and I’m pleased with this purchase. Take a look for yourself…

Re: Aluminum Pedals Installed *Pics*

it looks great!!!!
how long did it take you to do?
one more question......
is the surface of the pedals textured so your foot won't slip if its wet etc...also how well do they hold up as far as scratching and marring....I like the look....on your car with the black/graphite interior it really looks good....my interior is willow...so I'm not too sure it would look as good...anyway LOL.......2old4this

Re: Aluminum Pedals Installed *Pics*

It took my brother and I about 1.5 hours to complete. We really took our time though because we wanted the pedals to be straight and we were very careful when drilling.

The surface of the parking break, brake and dead pedals have raised edges around all the holes and along the outer edge. This acts as the grip that you need. The gas pedal however does not have any raised edges, which is a good thing. You need the sole of your shoe to slide along the surface of the gas pedal. The above picture is a bit out of focus, but I think you can see the raised edges on the brake pedal.

As far as scratching or marring, I will let you know after a few weeks of regular use. My guess is a rock caught in your shoe tread may scratch the aluminum.

I think they look good with the willow interior.

im with Cruz on this one, i mean, everyone has their own taste, Those pedals do look good, but i still prefer the OEM Nissan aluminum pedals.....
i believe its only $65 for the AT kit...and no drilling required! Simply a couple screws and bushings.... a simple 1/2 hr install

Re: Aluminum Pedals Installed *Pics*

Yeah $65 without the parking brake pedal which is sold seperately at $22. So they are basically the same price. I like the look of the OEM pedals too but I wanted something that screwed on. Didn't want to worry about the pedal coming off during hard driving.

Re: Aluminum Pedals Installed *Pics*

If the pedals were prone to "coming off" they wouldnt be on the 350GT stock in japan.....

I just put the OEMs on this afternoon, and my hands hurt. And there's no way those tight SOBs are coming off under hard driving.

I didn't hear it anywhere. Just sounds like pedals that are bolted on would be more secure then ones that weren't. That's all.
