Adding Splash Guards - With Photos

I bought some splash guards for my coupe a few weeks ago.
You have to remove the wheels to install the splash guards because you have to drill holes. Now that the weather is better I decided to switch my 17" winter tires to my 18 OEM rims.

This is a picture without the front splash guard on the front wheel.

Great job! Looks just like factory did it.

Just curious - why didn't you have them installed by the dealer when you bought it new?

Cost. It was only about $150 for the splash guards from http://infinitipa.zoovy.com/

Re: Adding Splash Guards - With Photos

flatcracker, clean off those rotors man!

haha, great job on the install..

Got a question for you..

about to install my own splash guards (bought from grubbs, around $150 there too, but they rape you on shipping... didn't know about infinitipa.zoovy.com at the time, thanks for the site), and I got a question. I'm gonna wash/wash the car just before I do it, and then switch the winters to summer tires, while they're off, I was gonna install the guards, but my concern is whether there are any sort of precautions that you could suggest in order to make sure it's sealed at the top.

In other words, is it easy for water/dirt/etc to get between the splash guard and the body of the car. If some stuff gets into there, who knows how much damage it could cost in the long run.

Thanks for any help that you could provide.

I thinking of that too. I guess I will find out next year after another dirty winter.

Just make sure you make a good seal with the supplied sticky tape attached to the splash guards onto the body of the car. I washed it with a 50 / 50 water, rubbing alcohol mixture before installing it.

Re: Adding Splash Guards - With Photos

I installed mine last week. Piece of cake.
On the first side....I jacked and removed rear wheel.......
But then I realized that you don't have to drill thru any metal.....just plastic.
So...on the second side, I lined everything up.....and used a short, sharp pointed awl to make the holes.
No jacking or wheel assembly required! No drill required!
