Newbie question on washing my baby

This is the first new car I have owned and I really want to take care of it, so I want to start washing and waxing the car myself. I have read alot about Zaino and other products that are used to make the car look good. They all seem to start by using Dawn to wash the car to remove any wax and other chemicals. My question is once you Zaino or wax your car how do you wash it so you do not remove the newly applied Zaino. What should you use, just water? Or another soap/detegent? How often after I Zaino/Wax the car before I do the process again?

Thanks

Any car wash will work. When I bought my Zaino I bought the starter kit that came with their car wash so that's what I use.

for Zaino, use the Z7 car wash, don't know about crystal guard though.

Re: Newbie question on washing my baby

If you want something quick, go with CG. Otherwise, go with Zaino. That seems to be the consensus among many members. If you ask me, I like spending time on my G, so I chose Zaino. As g35Girl mentioned, claybar it. It'll make a world of a difference.

As far as the wash is concerned, any regular CAR wash should do. Don't use dish washing soap, and don't get the cheep car washing detergent. And as far as the intervals are concerned, you can get away with doing it once every 6 months, or if you are really into making your G look good you can do it once a month. I try to apply at least one coat of Z2 every 2 months. Good luck, and don't forget to post some pics when you are done.

I would say Crystal guard. it's easier than zaino and gets the same results or better than zaino. It will make your car look like it has a glass coating. Very reflective and glossy. Also, NXT tech wax is another good sealant. Durability is still unknown but it does look nice. One advantage of nxt tech wax is you can get it on some local store like walmart, autozone, etc...
