Of course, if the scratch went through the paint, there's nothing that will "remove" it. But I have had pretty good experience with the above.
Note - recommended for flat surfaces only. If the scratch is on a curve or crease you are way too likely to buff the paint right off the high point of the curve. Been there, done that (86 MR2, now gone) If it's not on a flat surface, give it to someone who has experience with a buffer.
