so i was looking around...

and i open the oil cap and notice my engine is pretty dirty... what would be some good things to do to clean it up? in terms of additives? and where is the oil filter at?

I would probably just get a used cloth and wipe down the dirt and gunk residing around the oil filler hole. I wouldn't worry about putting in additives and such into the engine. The G35 engines are pretty strong as long as you maintain the oil changes.

As in most other cars these days, the oil filter is located at the bottom of the front end. There is a large plastic splash guard held on by at least a dozen 10mm bolts you'll have to remove to access the oil filter.

You can try seafoam. Suppose to clean the carbon inside your cylinder and also all the gunk inside your engine.
