Fixing Minor Scratches
I'm sure this has got to be in one of the threads around here but I had to post this because I was so satisfied
I newly discovered the magic of 3M rubbing compound and polish
Had a few pretty visible scratches on my hood and went to try to fix it. This apparently only works on scratches that don't go down to the metal or primer.
Clean the area first, then apply some rubbing compound to a cotton pad and start applying it to the scratched area. It takes a couple passes... One of my deeper scratches took about 20 passes but it still went away =]
Then wipe off the rubbing compound and apply the polish the same way. It's magical.
