It really depends on how bad your swirling is. If it's not horrific, I would try SIP on a white pad first. If the swirling is REALLY light you can even do 106ff on a white pad and see if that works. If that doesn't do the job then step up to an orange pad. It's better to start less aggressive and work your way up as needed. If the swirling is really really bad, I would do SIP on orange and then 106ff or FP on a white pad. But to your question yes, I used IP on an orange pad but I tried it on a white pad first but that combo didn't cut it.

If the paint isn't clayed, washed or polished properly, the best waxes in the world won't make that car look good so really the ultimate finish of a vehicle would come from properly prepping the paint wouldn't you agree?
Ah this didn't come across right. Yes, prep work is 90% of results certainly. Removing contamination and paint imperfections is what makes the detail. What I meant by my statement was factoring out the paint prep... for example:

Wash / Dry
Paint Prep & Correction
... (below is all waxes of varying quality)
Pinnacle Souveran (~$80)
Zymol Vintage (~$1500)
Natty's Blue (~18)
Swissvax Concorso (~$240)
Pete's 50/50 (~$50)
P21S Concours Carnauba Wax (~$30)
Turtle Wax Paste Wax (~$2)

The end look would be primarily of the last product you applied, the $2 Turtle Wax Paste Wax.

In your case I was saying that your end look (after the paint prep) was of the sealant you used, not the wax a few steps behind.

Hope this helps clarify things.

George
