Car Wash is prohibitied?? *#%$ home association

Man,

I just purchased PC, PAD, Klasse twins, etc from detailedimage to start detail my new G35.
Today, home association send new policy - car wash is prohibited.

What the @#%$. I am really mad

I moved here last year December. I have been washing my car in front of my garage and I just decide to start doing my car detail my own. Dang.. HOA.

Now what can I do? Should I bring my car to car wash place and bring back to home garage to work on ? What if the car wash place make swirl mark?

Man...this really sucks.

Use a rinseless car wash such as optimum no rinse(ONR) or protectall quick and easy wash(QEW) inside your garage with the door closed. Better option than a car wash any day of the week

Thank you for your reply. You are my life saver.

I just want to ask some questions regarding this rinseless wash. Please bear with me as I am pretty newbie in this area.

Is rinseless car wash really can clean the car? (Sounds dumb but I just want to make sure). I just quickly googled it. It looks wipe the car with the soap water and dry it. My concern is when I wipe the car, what about the particles on the paint?
Since it wasn't wet with water, I think it will make scratches. (Even soaped water)

If anybody has used this product, could you explain? (Experience, tip, etc)

Thanks.

I have the same HOA rules on my Condo unit, but I still do it anyway....

If you can't, perhaps hit up a "clean" self car wash station and detail your car at home.

Good luck,

John / speedraver

I use ONR and alot of people on autopia and other detailing forums use it. It's kind of washing you car, but without rinsing the car with a hose. You still use two buckets, mitts and a grit guard. But are not using a hose to pre rinse and rinse you car off. It doesn't scratch or leave marring on the cars finish. Works also for the wheels and wheel wells.

Here's a link I find the best that works with ONR:

I use ONR/QEW on a regular basis as a car wash replacement. It gets the car plenty clean. The only area I need a conventional wash for is inside the wheel wells, but all paint/wheels are easily cleaned by ONR. Even really dirty cars. The surfactants in ONR/QEW are nothing like what you find in a normal wash so they don't need the rinse etc. to work properly.

I had that problem once when I was living at an apartment. People are As* sometimes. First of all who the hell cares if you wash your car as long as you are not blocking anyone.
People rather have ugly dirty cars in their driveway or parking lot. Seriouly A**holes.

And the problem is my car could go to car wash places b/c it is too low.

So guess what's my solution. I brought my own place LOL. much better now. Wash it all the time and no one bother. hehehe

The ONR/QEW product sounds pretty good. I will go for it for sure.
(Thank you for the info. I didn't know such a thing (rinseless/waterless wash) exist. My life saver!! )

By the way, once you wash the car with ONR/QEW, can you still polish the paint without additional rinse of the car? (Such as IP, FF106 any kind of polish)

I plan to polish my wife's car. (I can see bunch of swirl mark.)

Set up a tarp as a "catch pan" in the garage and do it in there. Or just let it run under the door and down the drive way. F em'

You're lucky that's ALL they did. A lot of HOA's won't even let you wrench on your ride IN YOU'RE OWN FRICKIN GARAGE!
