Hey Guys,
I've been trying to search to how I can bring back the shine to the lip of my SF Challenge back. But my search was a failure. If you guys can help and recommend products to bring the shine back to the lip my rims. You would be saving me a lot of money. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. Thank YOU...

Lip refinishing....!

There comes a time in the life of every wheel that the shine is not what it
once was. Since you're on the right coast I don't have a place to recommend
to have your wheels repolished/clear coated, but that's what needs to be done....it's not cheap. ($50 - $125 per wheel here)

Yes, it sounds like the clearcoat may be deteriorated. Some pics might help.

I recently picked up a set of Winnings and the lips had some pitting in the clearcoat. The shop I used broke down the wheels, stripped the lips and then polished to the point the lips look like they were chromed. Just waiting on one of my rears to get back and I'll get the tires mounted. The shop charged $105 per wheel.

have you tired waxing them??? Yea you can have them recleared but it won't be the same..Volk uses there own formula for clearcoat that no one has but them....

personally I woulls just have the lips chromed less hassle unless you want to keep the polished look

I would have them polished and leave the clearcoat off so you can routinely polish them and Wheel Sealant to keep them in good shape afterwards. In the mean time it sounds like your clear is already in poor shape and there would be little harm in using a clay bar to help remove some of the grime that built up and then put on a layer of the above product or Jet Seal 109.

Yes, Volks does use their proprietary clearcoat, which apparently sucks and I would not hesitate to have a reputable shop re-coat them after polishing them as well.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Yeah, I guess I might have to have them repolished again.

before you repolish them,

try and see if some claybar would help. I got the same wheels and i treat them like paint on the body. when it gets pretty dirty, ill claybar them, then put wax on it. it keeps them pretty shiny and helps protect them.

Where'd you pull this from? They use an anodized coating, just like numerious other wheel manufacturers such as work, ssr, racing hart etc.
