Cleaning my titanium wheel rims?

The owners' manual says to be careful cleaning the rims of the 2008 G35 since they are made of titanium. We just got back from a 1,500 mile round trip and they are plenty dirty - especially the front ones. Already they are getting pretty difficult to clean with just soap and water. Any recommendations to make things easier in the future? Thanks guys!!

Where does it say that?

The rims are painted aluminum, and cleaning them with off-the-shelf wheel cleaners works just fine.

Well, you know, I've lost my mind!!! I don't know where I got that as the manual plainly states "aluminum alloy wheels" on pg. 7-3. Anyway, I'm still interested in the best cleaner.

if offered, titanium wheels would add about $4000 or so to the price no?

is regular soap and water good for cleanin 2005 stock rims(17's)? I see a lot of fancy **** at the store, and then my boy who restores cars says the best stuff for your rims is just plain water and soap(car soap that you use for the exterior).HOLLA!

as long as you wash the car regularly (3-4 times per month) then soap and water does the trick just fine as it doesnt let brake dust and other contaminants build up and cake onto the wheel.

thanks, i think the actual point he was trying to make though was that cleaner designed specifically for rims/wheels will eat away at the paint of your rims...anyone have experience w that?
