Me Versus the Funk... Operation Odor Removal

Well, unfortunately, I live in the middle of the desert and traditional air fresheners do not fair well here. Nothing like the smell of a burnt pine tree air freshener. Anyways, my Z is not driven daily, but is usually my road trip car, which means it sees too many spilt starbucks and burgers. After time there wasn't a specific odor problem, but more of a musty smell. So today I decided to attack da funk once and for all. Weapons of choice were Sofast Odor Eater and Fabric Cleaner.

I started by dilting the fabric clean to 15:1 (slightly stronger than necessary) and misted the fabric, let it sit for about thirty seconds and then agitated it with a towel. It was nice to see the coffee stains come out, a couple of my java chips took two to three scrubbings. After that it was time to take the gloves off and attack the little microbes driving me nuts.

I diluted the Sofast Odor Eater about 10:1 for a fighting chance. I misted the fabric and let it do its work while misting a microfiber and wiping off the panels for good measure. I closed the doors and allowed the heating to run for about twenty mintutes to help dry out all the fungis clubbing in my vents as well. Came back twenty minutes later to the smell of green apples. Funny, don't remember planting those.

24 hrs. later and I still get fresh apples that is faint enough to say "I don't stink" but, not so strong as you are looking around for a Tijuana hooker. I'll update it in a couple days to see how long the scent lingers as well as whether or not da funk returns for vengeance. In the meantime I am asking starbucks for sippy cups.

These are products that have worked for me personally, you guys are free to try them or stick with what you like, but so far CG has really impressed me. I think you posted feedback on their Citrus Wash as well. Anyone who lives in a hot climate like mine is probably familiar with the funk it causes and has probably has had a baked pine tree air freshener ruin their week. You guys can follow the links to check out the specific product or I can leave them out and you guys can search their site, no problem either way. Regardless, if you guys are hating a lingering odor, I really liked the odor remover. Look for it or something similiar that actually attacks the underlying source and not just masking the odor with its own.

Depending on where you live ordering from Chemical Guys or Detailedimage might be cheaper. I live in CA so I can avoid tax and still pay about the same shipping by ordering out of state, but those of you not in CA can take advantage of some of the CG specials.
