wash your car whenever you want. wait to wax for about 90 days.

Should wait a little bit. The new paint is going to be soft and going to leave swirls everywhere.

I doubt they waxed it they more then likely used a glaze which is safe for fresh paint.

the paint needs to cure by releasing solvents. wax impedes the dissipation of gasses and doesn't let the paint harden. glazes and polishes that the shop used to buff the car after paint don't contain wax.

You should not wax the paint for the 90 days because wax coats the paint, preventing it from what is called "outgassing", as stated above by speedracerg35. Why is this important? Because if you prevent outgassing, your paint will never harden to its full potential. Then, you will be dealing with crappy, soft paint that mars and swirls much easier than the rest of your paint. Wash it whenever you want. Don't use Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer for that 90 days either: Megs told me that it is too similar to wax and will prevent outgassing. I would just wash it and leave it alone for 90 days no matter how painful it is to wait.
