Not so sure about an answer to #2 but concerning #1 just be 100% sure theres no holes behind those moldings and when you're ready a simple fishing line , goo gone and a nice hot day should do the trick

3M makes a great automotive adhesive remover that's better than Goo Gone. Walmart carried it and removing lettering was a breeze - no discolor and no pressure.

wash, clay, polish, wax. if you can buff it that may work as well

okay so now i have a delema..
None of the buffing and polishing was doing any good, so I took it to a body shop, and the guy tells me that the doors and front of the car have been repainted (the part of the side trim that was on the rear panel instead of the door came off fine and left no marks), which means it was probably wrecked (stealership/carfax didnt show any accidents).. So now I'm either gonna have to reattatch the sides or get the doors painted..

Heres a pic:

sooo. do you guys think there is any way to get the dealership to repaint/touch it up seeing as how the car has obviously been repainted and they did not mention anything about it? or am I just **** out of luck?

On brand new cars, dealerships are required to disclose any transport/lot damage greater than $500.

Look at the inside edge of the door where the "skin" is wrapped around the door shell. Now go look at the other door. Do they look the same? If so, there was metal/bondo work done on the panel. If the painted side doesn't look OEM, then it probably had a door skin put on it. Neither is bad, don't hate the car for it.. If you didnt notice until now, then the body shop did a good job.

As far as getting the dealership to pay to repaint it... you can try it, but if it was the Used Car Dept, you will have a long uphill road...

yea I checked the carfax it was wrecked... twice.. but when we bought the car the dealership gave us a "autocheck report" or something that said it had never been wrecked. It was repainted from the doors to the front. We are trying to get the stealership to repaint the doors.. its the least they can IMO, because I definately woujldnt have payed as much as I did for that car if I had known it was wrecked twice
