Longest lasting wax? Mine only lasts 1 wash.

Hi everyone.

I have been using Maguiar's NXT tech wax, and it looks like every week I have to rewax my car. After 1 rain it feels like the wax completely washes off the car. I follow the directions on the package and this wax just doesn't last very long.

I wash the car gently with a wash mitt I put almost no pressure on the car but after the wash the wax isn't there anymore.

Does anyone have any suggestion for a better longer lasting wax?

Thanks.

I would have to agree with you that the NXT wax doesn't last very long. I've tried both version 1.0 and 2.0. The 2.0 is harder to apply and remove, and it tends to haze after your car gets wet the next time. I might just be applying to much of it, but I'm also looking for something else. I think i've done 10 waxes with one entire bottle.

wow. i have been using nxt 2.0 with no problems for a while now. i dont only use it on my car but most of the cars i detail. it is easy to apply, easy to wipe off, gives good results, and last a long time here.

what kind of car wash soap are you using and how much are you using?

P21s is good, also try One Grand Blitz Wax. It has a great shine and is one of the more durable waxes around, and i've tried 'em all

p21s has very poor longevity, if your wax is only lasting a week, then its probably an application problem, you are applying it to a nonprepped surface, how are you determining the wax is gone?

Meguiars No. 26 Yellow Carnauba. Lasts 10-12 months. In Chicago, with frequent car washes (during winter to remove road salt).

Dampen applicator cloth to allow for easier buffing.

If you (hand) wash car with hard water, wax will last much shorter period.

I use DP Xtreme Foam Formula Auto Shampoo with the foam master using a seperate bucket to clean the mit after every few wipes.

I apply little to no pressure using only 1 pass.

I dry the car using the blotting method using a waffle towel.

After the car dries the paint looks dull and when i touch the car it feels like all the wax is gone the smoothness is gone and imprerfections start showing up.

I am thinking of using Klasse Sealant Glaze , then topping it up with natts blue (I have a black car).

Would that last atleast a few months?

Use another car wash meguires gold class and stop scrubing so hard. I use NXT 2.0 and it last forever.

Even my Optimium and Duragloss Aquawax (spray on, wipe off) lasts approx 3 months with a wash once per week.

This is not a sign of the wax being gone, this is a sign that the car needs to be clayed and polished, and the fillers in the NXT are being washed off. This doesn't mean the protection provided by the wax is gone. If the finish still beads, then the wax is still there.

I use Rejex.

It's a liquid. Easy to apply and after drying to a haze, just wipe off and let the car cure in an enclosed area for 12 hours. It'll last 6-8 months easy.
