debadge my coupe

Ok so i just bought my g35 two weeks ago. Its a black 04 coupe. I want to take the badges off, but i don't know if i should do it myself. I don't know if it is easy and i don't know if a buff will make it so that you don't see where the badges were at.

its very easy. heat the letters/emblem up with a hair dryer. then take dental floss and go down the back of each one. it make take a piece of floss for each one b/c it breaks. there will go sticky goo left over. you need to goo gone the sh*t out of it afterwards and use your fingernails to get the residue off.

after that, clean it, polish it, and wax it. should get rid of all the residual haze. i did mine (which is a 2004) a few months ago and there's no ghost lettering at all.

but to answer your question, yes it is easy. just be patient. took me about 2 hours of scrapping to get all the gunk off.

The goo is not that bad if you let the goo gone sit on it for a few mins then heat it up a little with a blow dryer.

like the others said, just use dental floss or fishing line (worked better for me)... but do NOT use your fingernail to scrub the goo as was suggested... goo-be-gone is a good product, just let it dwell and then use a microfiber towel to wipe... if there is any residue, use a claybar and polish (if necessary)... afterwards apply some kind of protection to the area (sealant or wax)...

Put the Goo Gone on a Microfiber towel, nothing else or it will scratch the paint. Rub it along the area with the adhesive left behind, and let it sit for a few. Should be easier to take off, you can also try rubbing it back and fourth with the microfiber towel with the Goo Gone on it.

1) clean around emblems
2) dental floss (hairdryer optional on a hot day) the badges until they come off
3) use Goo Gone for the residude
4) clean with detailer & microfiber
5) wax

Good luck
