Scratched interior...Please Help!
Scratched interior...Please Help!
I just got my car back from the bodyshop and there was a dull film all over the inside of the car. I was able to clean it off most everything.
When it came to cleaning the plastic on the display of the temp/compass read out and the display on the stereo, I couldn't get it off. Windex and Simple Green did nothing. I mistakenly tried a light rubbing compound and probably did more harm then good. Now I have one deeper scratch and still have the film.
Any sugestions on how to get this stuff out, maybe a lighter pollish. If you have a suggestion please give the name of the product and where I can buy it.
Thanks in advance.

Is it me or do the people selling used coupes on the site not realize you can buy a new one for less??

Re: Scratched interior...Please Help!
Try Meguiar's clear plastic cleaner/polish at http://www.properautocare.com/meg1708.html
Normally, you want to clean interior plastic gauges with moist microfiber towel or air only as cleaners are usually too harsh; but as you've got compound scratches, I'd try the plastic polish.

I had a scratch too and tried the Meguiars plastic polish...it will only work with fine scratches. For mine it didn't work and I ended up dulling areas it was applied.
I had nothing else to use so I put some Mothers Gold stage 2 (sealer glaze) & stage 3 (carnuba wax) on the dull areas and surprisingly everything returned to normal on the plastic display...however the original slight scratch remains. Just be careful with this plastic polish! It will not work on harsh scratches which sounds like yours...
Good luck
