Re: Tree Sap!!! HELP !!
YOu can also use carburetor (sp?) cleaner or WD-40. Be sure to wax your car afterward since this will pull it right off.

Are you sure it's sap?
We have several Tulip Poplars which, for years, I thought was dripping sap as the tulip flowers came out. Turns out, an harborist told me that sap doesn't drop from the foliage, rather, the tulip poplar and other trees are subject to infestation by an aphid and what you are experiencing is the droppings of this aphid. The test was, one spring, he treated the tree with an antibiotic by drilling small holes approximately every 6 inches around the circumference of the tree so that a chemical placed in amules in the holes was brought to the leaves by the trees "circulatory" system..That year was great! No droppings on my driveway, deck, furniture are rarely (if not garaged) my cars. I am convinved, despite meticulous care of my cars, there was some inevitable permanent marring of the clear coat which only I could probably appreciate. The only way to get rid of the stuff on drive, deck and furniture was to powerwash...not something you would want to do on a regular basis even at at moderate P.S.I. of 1000 - 1200 typical of an electric unit.
Good luck and be gentle!!
