I noticed the other day that one of my headlamps looks like it has some type of moisture or film accumulating on it? Would something like this be an issue if I wanted it replaced? Just curious if anyone has had the same problem and what they did with it? suggestions?

If it's on the outside here is a solution.

If it's on the inside, then I believe that means your seal has a leak in it and you'd want that fixed because I would assume your bulb would be more likely to go out. I have moisture on the inside, still have to ask the dealer about that.

Meguiar's Plastix should fix your problem. I had really bad hazing/glazed look on both my headlights. The Plastix fixed it right up!

I had moisture inside both headlamps very shortly after purchasing the car. Took it to the dealer and they replaced both headlamp assemblies - however, it was still under warranty. The problem has not returned.

lisaanz - did they say specifically why they needed to be replaced? Reason I ask is because I'm afraid when I take it in to get replaced they will say it's not a problem...

<a href="http://infinitihelp.com/Ownership/Bulletins/Infiniti/2003/ITB03-051.htm">TSB about fogging headlights</a>

I had mine replaced due to cracks on the inside housing...dealership mentioned that they had replaced someone elses for a "haze" on the inside. good luck.

Nate1749,
They didn't specify other than moisture in the headlight assembly is bad for the Xenon lights - can cause them to burn out. When they finally confirmed there was moisture, the service manager (Roseville) didn't hesitate to suggest both lamp assemblies be replaced.

i think that the headlight replacment must make them alot of $$....must be alot of billable hours. I tried to tell them i wanted to wait and see if the cracks in mine got worse, since i was afraid they might scratch my car putting the new ones in. They could see what i was getting at and really WANTED to put them in. Never seen anything like it. After they assured me they would not scratch anything i agreed. Never seen my dealership so insistent on doing a repair before.
