how much to expect to pay for a TINY .5 inch chip
The paint on the side of my G has a small chip... about 1/2 an inch big... it's noticible though when you go up close--is there a recommended body shop in the SOCAL area that can fix this?
And for the guys who have done this, how much did it cost?

Dennis....
There are two factors which would determine the expense of the fix......
First is, if the paint is chipped down to the metal or primer, usually to get a professional finish it has to be filled, sanded then polished out. Depending on the color of your car and how hard it is to match, It could be a costly endeavor if you have it done by a body shop.....
A few people have tried the LANGKA paint system.....but a lot didn't like the results they got.....I think it works best on solid colors, not the metallics or Pearl White that I have.....
I received a tiny chip on my rear bumper from a license plate screw head that my wife did pulling in to our driveway. I took it to a local body guy in my town, and he told me in order for the paint work to match, they would have to blend in the whole back of the bumper.......cost was around $475, Needless to say, I just touched it up with the factory touch up paint and sanded and waxed the area......I is still noticeable, but not half as bad as when it was hit.....
Your local dealership may have a body shop on site, or they may farm their work out to a local place. Either way, if they do repairs on Infiniti's, they should be able to do a descent job.....
some places can AIRBRUSH the chips, which work pretty well also......
It just seems the little chips and dings are the most time consuming and hard to fix......
