Picked up some meguiars products.... which order to use?
I have minor swirls in the paint that bug me, especially at night, so i bought some meguiars products...
ColorX
Swirl Remover
Deep CrystalŽ System Carnauba Wax
After washing the car, which should i use? I was thinking of using the swirl remover then try the ColorX on a small panal to see how it works, and try to carnauba wax on another panal to see which i like better.
Will that be alright or do i need to apply anything else?
Also, i read that the Swirl Remover can be applied on 3-5 setting on my PC with a W8006 pad.... some of the pads i have dont have that number W8006... All of the pads i have say "Hi Gloss Professional Constant pressure foam pad" and hte numbers..
CCS-65G
CCS-65W
CCS-65R
any of those pads good substitutes or should i go buy the specific W8006 pad?

never heard of those pads, meguiars pads are burgandy feels hard cutting pad, yellow medium polishing, cream colour pad is soft and for finishing, i dont know much about the products you listed but take a look at this...

that was the result of the previous owners rubbish wash routine, the paint on my g is so soft that any pressure when washing will cause these swirls...
check this for a 50 50.....

ive only done half the bonnet because a porter cable or da machine takes ages compared to a rotary polisher...

you have to be careful when doing the front end of a g, the paint thickness on mine was thin, i took readings of 80 down as low as 50 microns on the bonnet!!! i was expecting the normal readings of 100-150 but oh no, i guess this is the reason the paint gets chipped so easily, the readings over all the car are low as well!!!!
check how much cut your products have, you dont want to take away to much paint, also the paint is so soft that harsh products will leave swirls in this paint, i used megs 80 on a finishing pad and in some places had to step up to megs 80 with a polishing pad.
just remember work a 12inch square at a time with your da machine and you will see great results, im no pro but i understand your frustration with those swirls, best of luck

oh yeah forgot to mention you should really clay the car after you wash and before you polish, you could use the megs quik clay system, you just rub it gently over the cars surface with the supplied lube and it will remove any surface contaminants like brake dust tree sap, you know all other crap, this will also help you in the polishing stage, when your all done dont forget to wax it, and be careful in the following washes or the swirl marks will come right back!!
