Ziebart Diamond Gloss

Anybody have any experience with Ziebart's Diamond Gloss paint sealer? Is it worth the $200?

Do a search on autopia.org for Ziebart and see what you get. I don't think the autopians are big fans of it. My parents still do the ziebart undercoat spraying to prevent rust, but even I have my doubts about that stuff, since it costs like $100/year. The paint protection is marketed to people who never wax or detail their car and never want to. I believe they claim it lasts a full year, so then you can go in a year later for another $200. For that kind of money, you could pay someone to zaino your car, and you'd probably be much happier with the results.

if you really wanted to get some extra protection for your paint, couldn't get you get a true additional clear coat paint (covering the entire vehicle) added for around $300-350?

does an extra layer of clear coat make it shinier??

also i have some swirls, do i have to try to buff them out before i get an extra layer of clear coat?
or will it just make my car look brand new again...

also...what do you guys htink about candy coating ???
from what i understand, it adds more metallic specks to your paint job

i was looking at the clear coat as a protective thing, to give you an extra layer of uv protection and another layer of paint that would have to dry out before the actual pigmented paint could dry out (and fade).

yes you should fix the swirl issue before you do anything to the paint and if you did get a clear coat added, clean the surface as good as possible before taking it to the paint shop.

The technology of polymer sealant is old stuff. First came out in the 70's. It seals the paint but it is not glossy or shining as you would expect. It mainly acts as a sealant more than anything else
