any solutions to reduce dust?

My OB coupe gets dusty really fast, even a day after washing. I've tried using cali dust like some ppl suggested but no matter how lightly i sweep, there are still lil scratches appearing after a few times. I also ordered a bottle of FK #425, which is supposed to have anti-static properties. I guess it's a little better but not good enough IMO. What would you guys do?

There isn't anything you can do. Dust is going to fall where dust is going to fall. NOTHING will repel dust, there are things you can do to ensure it comes off easier without having to wash every couple of days. I SWEAR by the cali duster. However, if you park outside overnight it's not going to work well because morning dew will adhere the dust to your paint. You need to keep your car waxed and use a QD spray a lot. during the summer when I drive my car, I QD the car EVERYday. I also use the cali duster everyday with NO issues at all. Unfortunately with black paint, dust will be a never ending battle.

yeah i have an OB too. i having a parking garage and after about an hour i wash....dust start sticking to it like crazy. there is nothing you can really do about it. i use to spend a lot of time trying to keep it clean and dust free but it was taking up too much time for me. you can make it dust-free if you have time on your hands but i dont have time to QD everyday.

I do think that FK425 is the best option...but like everybody said, its not going to solve the problem. I do love that stuff though...just got 3 bottles in the mail!

In the spring/summer when I'm keeping my car spotless, I ONR every few days. When the car is that clean, it literally only takes 10 minutes to wash my car. I too have tried Cali Duster and QDing everyday, but both those options just seemed to create marring. ONR has been the best option for me personally, I just need to apply sealant more often because of how many times I'm washing my car.

I haven't actually tried it on a vehicle, but it works on other stuff... how about anti-static sprays? They're available in most office supply stores.

That will only cause more scratches, and won't reduce the dust that accumulates while driving.

i only use ONR but im always scared im not putting enough of that solution into the gallon of water. The instruction says only 2 caps of the solution per gallon of water? (i put more than that just in case haha) That seems so little, im constantly worried about scratching the paint lol

use anti-static QD's(FK and CG synthetic). Fuzion was is anti-static also. It's a sealant/carnuba wax at Autogeek.net
