Test spot on trunk, just wanted to share!

So I havent really had time to do a test-spot on my recently acquired G35, let alone a full detail, until today!

I'm no expert detailer or anything, but I'm really excited to detail the rest of the car now, seeing that 99% of the swirls were removed with only one pass.

products:
Meguiar's Mild clay bar with Prima Glide as lube
PC7424 on speed 5
Lake Country White Pad
Prima Swirl
Prima Amigo
Prima Banana Gloss applied by hand

Prima Arsenal on my old Evo

Sorry for the not-so-perfect pics, swirls are hard to photograph on silver cars.

Before, just after clay bar - swirls swirls swirls

After one pass with Swirl and white pad - 99% of swirls removed..NICE! I was hoping I wouldnt need a Rotary polisher (which i dont own), or even the orange pad.

After one pass with Amigo

After Banana Gloss Application/Removal

The gray lines are the power lines in the reflection..not in the paint haha
Thanks for looking!

Must have been a few trips through the car wash with that car before you picked it up.

That's a lot of prima for not being much of a detailer!

I really dont do ISA wipedowns unless the car has crazy protection on it already. During car washes on this car, the beading was kind of weak, so i knew there was already little protection.

I just use some QD to get any remaining polishing residue off the paint.

you should def do the iso wipe down when polishing. QD sprays can't get rid of the oils a lot of polished will leave behind. ISO wipe down will show you if you really corrected the paint of maybe just filled some of the spots in.

EDIT: so i finished the rest of the car...some of the scratches/swirls were pretty deep, so i added the additional first step of orange pad and swirl for some extra cutting. even then some of the flaws could not be removed - so its probably about a 90-95% correction of the swirls. sure i could have cut into the paint more, but at the cost of longevity? no thanks.

Heres some during shots...sorry no 50/50's, no time haha

Some weird scuff mark on my passenger mirror.

Swirls etc

Doing the rear

Side ready for LSP

Last step polish (Prima Epic) for the front end - i like to do the whole process in some sections for motivation haha
