I love dealership carwashes and body shop hacks

I guess I love how busy they keep me.

Client tells dealership as always, "Don't wash it!" They do.

Dealership wants to use their local bodyshop to correct it.

Client agrees but only if they will pay his detailer (me) to fix it if they can't.

Needless to say the car is at my house.

I hope to have it done sometime Wednesday.

I watch them when they service my G so they don't try to steal anything or wash my car.

all of that is from 1 car wash with a bad rag? i never understood how using a dirty cloth caused perfectly round swirl marks.

the swirl marks aren't perfectly round, the light source is essentially a point source. The swirl marks that are most likely to catch the light (and therefore, catch your eye) are the ones laying perpendicular to the rays coming from the source, so all you see is a bunch of circles. The swirl marks actually run every which way.

I am pretty sure they used brushes to wash this one.

Sorry to hear that my friend. I don't know of any detailers in AZ that I can recommend.

That is your best bet.

Looks like I will be able to save this one:

Yep, same thing happened to me. Not even swirls, but hairline scratches. Luckily it didn't go through clear coat so this weekend I plan on giving it a full detail and seeing how it goes.
